Do you suggest staying away from a Jeep Wrangler if I’m going to be doing a lot of highway driving?

I really love this car. And I need it so I can get to school. It’s not far. But I still need to get on the highway to get there.
I found a nice looking Wrangler. I also want to know if it’s worth the price, etc.
It’s a 2004 Jeep Wrangler X with 70K miles on it. For $11k.

if you keep the tires small, and get a steering stabalizer ($40), you should be fine. but jeeps are off road vehicles made to go through mud, not highway driving.

I’ve owned CJ-5,CJ-7,CJ-8,YJ,&TJ Jeeps. Everyone of them were my daily driver. Just try to drive at the posted speed limits and you will be fine on the highways. Try not to over steer since they have a short wheelbase and a high center of gravity.

I have driven my Jeep on the highway on several out of state trips. It doesn’t ride very smooth or handle like a regular car. Did not have problems, gas mileage is poor, Get the six cylinder, the 4 cylinder is a dog on the highway.

I drive my Jeep on the highway all the time. It has 3″ of lift and 33″ tires. I would steer clear of a 4cly though, it really lags if you need to pass.

I think that is a little pricy for a 2004, I would try to knock a couple thousand off if you can!
