Is it a good idea to buy a used jeep with a lift?

I am looking at a used 02′ Jeep Wrangler from a dealer. It is a soft top and the car seems to be in overall pretty good condition. I noticed that it has wheels and tires that are wider than stock and seems to have a suspension lift. The lights and stereo have also been modified. I am going to use this car as my daily driver. Would the suspension be something to worry about when buying this car?

I have found a really nice ‘98 Jeep Wrangler for sale with only 63,000 miles. I really like it. It has a 4 cylinder in it. I have heard pro’s and con’s on the 4 cylinder. I will be using the Jeep for a second vechicle and once in a while on the beach to go surf fishing. I will not be towing anything with the Jeep. I’m 62 years old and will not abuse it.
What do you guys and ladies think??????????????????

I’m a recent college grad, and I’m making good money as an engineer. I’m currently rocking a 93 corolla with 250k miles on it, so i’d say its time for an upgrade. I’m still a couple months away from getting a new car, but I’m looking at Tundras, Tacomas, 4 Door Wranglers, and 4Runners, which don’t come cheap. I probably wont have too much money to put down for it either.
For now, I’m commutting about 500 miles a week to work, but I will be moving closer within the next year. I keep my cars in excellent condition and I am always on top of the maintenance (as you can tell by my current car). Would it be better for me to buy or lease my next vehicle?
manual or auto for 06 wrangler sport?

I went to the dealership today and found out they stopped shipping manual wrangler 06’s. I looked around and found a silver (2nd choice) 06 wrangler sport automatic. the dealer offered 5k below msrp, which seems pretty sweet. but how do autos hold up in wranglers? i know manuals are the way to go (I have to leanr how to drive stick though haha) for wranglers and i dont like the new 07’s so much. what shoud i do? thanks in advance. mike

Hello to all you jeep guys out there.
So the story goes, I just bought a couple year old wrangler. I love it, has low miles, strong engine but it has a 4″ lift kit on it and some huge mud tires and premium wheels (details to follow).
I live in the city and beyond must being complete overkill I think it looks a little trashy for my tastes. The thing has been babied, I mean it’s an absolute creme puff and the tires, lift kit and wheels are in mint condition, never even taken off road (rich guy who just liked how it looked).
My question regards removing the lift kit and downgrading to just regular old premium jeep wheels and tires.
Is it unreasonable for me to think that I might be able to go into a jeep dealer or mechanic and offer them the parts in exchange for finding me a standard set of premium jeep alloy wheels and some decent name brand tires and swapping them out?
Specs as follows:
* 4″ Superlift Suspension Lift with shocks.
* 5-8″ Mickey Thompson Classic Lock Wheels
* Mud King 33×12.50×15 Tires
Just looking for the premium wheelset from a new wrangler and some nice / new namebrand tires.

I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler Sport and I’m missing the long black metal piece on the back of my trunk door that helps fasten my soft top back window down. Any help would be appreciated.
